xTool F2 Ultra 60W MOPA + 40W Diode Dual-Laser Engraver
Professional Metal Engraving, Material Cutting and High-Speed Production in One Machine
The xTool F2 Ultra Dual-Laser combines a powerful 60W MOPA infrared laser with a 40W blue-light diode laser, giving businesses and professional makers the ability to engrave metal, create color markings, cut selected metals and process a wide range of non-metal materials with one compact machine.
The 60W MOPA laser is designed for advanced metal work, including deep engraving, detailed marking, embossing, color engraving and cutting thin metal. The 40W diode laser expands the machine’s capabilities to materials such as wood, leather, paper, cardboard, opaque acrylic and other diode-compatible materials. Together, the two laser sources make the F2 Ultra Dual-Laser an excellent choice for shops that want to produce everything from personalized metal products and industrial identification plates to wood décor, leather goods and custom gifts.
Two Powerful Lasers in One Machine
60W MOPA Infrared Laser
The 60W MOPA laser operates at an infrared wavelength of approximately 1064 nm and is optimized for processing metals. Unlike a standard fiber laser, a MOPA laser allows greater control over pulse width and frequency. This provides more flexibility when creating different surface finishes, detailed markings, dark marks, deep engraving and laser-generated colors on compatible metals.
The F2 Ultra offers adjustable pulse widths from 2 to 500 nanoseconds and frequencies ranging from 30 kHz to 4000 kHz. These controls allow experienced users to fine-tune how the laser interacts with a material rather than relying only on power and speed.
The MOPA laser is ideal for processing materials such as:
Applications include jewelry engraving, firearms-accessory marking, tools, tumblers, identification plates, promotional products, machine tags, serialized parts, metal business cards, coins and personalized gifts.
40W Blue-Light Diode Laser
The integrated 40W diode laser is designed for cutting and engraving many common non-metal materials. It is particularly useful for wood, leather, cardboard, paper and opaque acrylic.
The diode laser expands the F2 Ultra beyond metal-focused production, allowing a business to create signs, ornaments, leather patches, packaging, wood products, display pieces, templates and layered projects without purchasing a separate diode machine.
Advanced Metal Engraving and Color Marking
One of the F2 Ultra’s most distinctive capabilities is color engraving on compatible metals. The MOPA laser uses controlled heat to form extremely thin oxide layers on the surface of certain metals. Variations in the oxide layer can produce different visible colors through light interference.
Color engraving results depend on the material, surface finish and laser settings. Stainless steel and titanium are especially popular for this technique, although xTool also identifies copper and other metals as potential color-engraving materials. Because color is created through a laser-induced surface reaction, results can vary and test matrices are recommended.
Deep Engraving, Embossing and Relief Effects
The 60W MOPA laser can remove metal in controlled layers to create deep engravings, dimensional textures and raised-looking relief effects. This makes the F2 Ultra suitable for coin-style artwork, jewelry dies, medallions, stamps, metal plaques and premium branded products.
On officially recommended materials, relief engraving may reach approximately 1 to 2 mm in depth, although the final depth depends on the material, design, height map and processing parameters. Relief engraving is designed for flat surfaces and is not supported on curved objects.
High-Speed Galvo Processing
The F2 Ultra uses a galvo-style laser system capable of processing at speeds up to 15,000 mm per second. Unlike a traditional gantry laser that physically moves the entire laser head across the work area, a galvo system directs the beam using high-speed internal mirrors.
This makes the F2 Ultra especially effective for:
Maximum processing speed depends on the material, artwork and desired engraving depth.
Dual-Camera Positioning System
The F2 Ultra features dual 48-megapixel cameras designed to provide a detailed view of the work area and help position artwork accurately. Camera-assisted placement is particularly useful when engraving small items, aligning designs on finished products or arranging multiple pieces for batch production.
The camera system works with the machine’s software to simplify positioning and reduce the trial-and-error commonly associated with manual laser alignment.
8.6" × 8.6" Internal Working Area
The machine provides an internal processing area of approximately:
220 × 220 mm — 8.6 × 8.6 inches
The F2 Ultra can accommodate materials up to approximately 150 mm thick, depending on the setup and application. Optional accessories can expand the types and sizes of products that can be processed.
Optional Conveyor for Batch Production
The optional xTool Auto Streamline Conveyor allows compatible products to move through the laser for larger layouts and batch engraving. This can be valuable for production environments processing multiple tags, utensils, tools, business cards, ornaments or similar products.
The conveyor should not be used for through-cutting because the laser could strike and damage the conveyor surface. Conveyor-based batch relief engraving is also not supported.
Optional Rotary Engraving
The F2 Ultra supports a compatible rotary attachment for engraving cylindrical and curved products such as:
-
Tumblers
-
Cups
-
Rings
-
Bracelets
-
Bottles
-
Mugs
-
Cylindrical tools
-
Round containers
The rotary attachment and conveyor cannot be used at the same time.
Metal and Non-Metal Cutting Capability
The dual-laser F2 Ultra can cut selected thin metals with the 60W MOPA laser and thicker non-metal materials with the 40W diode laser.
According to xTool’s published guidance, maximum cutting capabilities may include up to:
-
2 mm stainless steel
-
2 mm brass
-
1 mm aluminum
-
23 mm wood
-
20 mm acrylic
Actual cutting performance depends on the specific material composition, color, density, focus, settings and number of passes. Acrylic compatibility may also depend on the color and opacity of the material.
Built for Business and Professional Production
